2025 Development and Dissemination of Information for People with Disabilities

Focusing on the difficulties faced by people with disabilities and their families from their own perspectives in daily activities and specific situations, we worked with Mirairo to develop content that helps address these challenges. As in the previous year, we continued to share this content as the “Tips for Daily Living” series through Mirairo’s official media platform, Mirairo News. To deliver this information directly to people with disabilities, we introduced notification alerts via Mirairo ID, the digital disability certificate, and shared the content with all registered users.

We also set up a summary site where readers can access all episodes published since 2024 (Episodes 1–7) in one place and revisit them whenever needed. (Mirairo News: Features and Series Page)

Approach to content development

In April, we conducted a survey among Mirairo ID registrants to gather feedback on this initiative. Based on the valuable feedback received, we incorporated improvements into this year’s content development to make it even more useful for those facing difficulties. (Respondents: 777 people with diverse types of disabilities)

  • We conducted a preliminary survey on the themes to be covered, incorporating input from a wide range of people with disabilities to help make everyday challenges feel more relatable and the content more approachable.
  • In addition to the preliminary survey, we held group discussions with disability monitors and incorporated interview-style articles, taking creative approaches to highlight more authentic voices.
  • To support readers who may find it difficult to read entire articles, we enhanced the table of contents so readers can jump directly to sections of interest.
  • We expanded the summary at the beginning of each article so readers can quickly grasp the overall content.
  • We made it easier for readers to relate personally to the content by developing titles that address not only the specific difficulties associated with certain actions, but also the feelings people experience in those situations.

Impact of our content

We continued to receive a high volume of visits from people with disabilities and their families. Readers shared comments such as relief at knowing they were not alone in their struggles and a sense of greater positivity about trying new approaches, suggesting that the content also provides emotional support.

Verifying content through direct dialogue with loyal readers of the
“Tips for Daily Living” series

To assess the significance and challenges of our work to date and apply the findings to future improvements, we conducted individual interviews in Tokyo, in collaboration with Mirairo, with loyal readers of the “Tips for Daily Living” series who are living with disabilities. (Eight participants with diverse types of disabilities; interviews conducted in December at a facility in Tokyo)

During the interviews, participants with a wide range of disabilities shared many common perspectives on this initiative.

Common feedback:

  • Provides useful information for daily life
  • Could be helpful for my own future changes
  • Could help other people with disabilities
  • Offers insight into others’ daily lives
  • Builds empathy by sharing different perspectives
  • Fosters a positive outlook

Based on this feedback, we found that this initiative offers a valuable opportunity for loyal readers with disabilities to gain practical insights.
We value the feedback from our readers and will use it to further strengthen the impact of this initiative. We will also continue looking for ways to share our content and the feedback we have received with an even wider audience.
